Tom Burrus Memorial Scholarship
Burrus Seed is a proud member of the Independent Professional Seed Association (IPSA), an organization formed in 1989 to recognize the unique needs of the independent seed company sector.
Our former President/Owner Tom Burrus was a passionate supporter of IPSA and the seed industry. Tom also recognized the value of education and was always willing to share his knowledge with others. This scholarship serves as a tribute to Tom and his years of dedication to the seed industry. Upon his passing in 2017, the Tom Burrus Memorial Scholarship was established in his honor.
In addition to the Tom Burrus Memorial Scholarship, the IPSA Board intends to award ten $2,000 scholarships to students studying in the field of agriculture. Each year, the Tom Burrus award recipient is selected from the pool of IPSA scholarship applicants and recognized with the other scholars at the annual conference.
We encourage all high school seniors and college students pursuing an agriculture-focused major to apply to the IPSA Scholarship program, applications must be received by April 30, 2020.
