Burrus Seed is an independent, farm family-owned seed business started in 1935 and located in Arenzville, IL. We sell hybrid corn, soybean and alfalfa seed to growers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. We formed a strategic alliance with the Hughes family of Hughes Hybrids in 2010 and they operate our northern facility in Woodstock, IL.
The Burrus production facility is located in Arenzville, IL on the same site where the company was first started in 1935. Our corporate office is in Jacksonville, IL and the northern production facility is located in Woodstock, IL. Burrus has additional distribution locations in Champaign, IL and Chillicothe, MO.
We offer Power Plus® and Burrus brand seed corn, DONMARIO™ and Burrus brand soybean seed, and Hughes brand hybrid alfalfa seed. Find the Burrus Seed products to best fit your farm today.
Burrus Seed's Perfect Pop microwave popcorn can be purchased in person at our Jacksonville or Arenzville office or ordered on the phone and shipped to you — call our office at 217.997.5511. Perfect Pop comes in a case of 50 individually wrapped bags for $25.
Our famous Coon’s Choice sweet corn is available for purchase in person at our Jacksonville or Arenzville office or ordered on the phone and shipped to you — call our office at 217.997.5511. Coon’s Choice is available in a 500 kernel packet for $10.00 or a 2500 kernel package for $28.00. Coon’s Choice is a super sweet, bi-color variety that is not Roundup Ready® (glyphosate) tolerant.
We have a network of Account Managers and Dealers across our selling footprint covering Illinois, northern Missouri, southern Iowa, southern Wisconsin and western Indiana. Contact the Burrus Sales Manager in your territory, and they will get you in touch with your local Burrus Representative.
We have a paid summer internship program with opportunities for both agronomic and traditional seed company interns. Applications are accepted each fall for the following summer. Applicants are selected by November. Find more information here.
